I hope everyone had a fantastic winter break! Having about a month off was definitely something to get used to. In high school your off for a little over 2 weeks. To be honest I was getting pretty bored with waking up and going to work every morning. So I'm pretty excited for this semester. I'm taking 14 credit hours, which from talking to some of my friends is about average. How many credit hours are you guys taking?
I did fairly well last semester. I passed all my classes. For some people saying I passed my classes wouldn't be a good thing, but one of my classes was a doozy. Of course like most everyone else, I made a couple of resolutions. Most of them have to do with school. Now that I have my first semester for college in the rear view mirror, winter break gave me a good chance to look back at what I can do differently.
- I plan on cutting back at work a little bit. College is NOT like high school. You can't work 25-30 hours during the week and be a full time student. It's really tough. My pocket book may not like it, but my academics will.
- I plan on doing the proper studying. I won't just study before a test. I will study every night before I go to bed..instead of being on pinterest (which is my absolute weakness)
- I will visit the ACE Center whenever I have a problem. Why wait until the end of the semester to clear up problems you've had all semester. Kick it in the butt while you can!
- I will spend a lot more time in the gym. I've learned over break working out is THE BEST stress reliever. So get your homework done and get your butt in the gym too! You'll feel great afterwords!
For the people who are graduating after this semester or are transferring after this semester--Do your absolute best! End your time here at St. Charles Community College on a high note!
